Tuesday's Tunes

I’m going with the alliteration theme this week because…why not?I’m actually not the biggest fan of Tuesday’s. I always seem to have a million things to do but I’m running between gymnastics and dance and school and the grocery store and trying to catch up on the things that fell through the cracks on Monday. Add to it that last weekend is fading from memory and the new weekend is a long way off and just…BLAH. Uplifting isn’t it?Not so much. So we’ve been cranking tunes. Both Violet and Abram are loving Animals (video below) because of the part they call the “coconut cymbals” which cracks me up to no end. As someone who tends toward the more folksy side of the spectrum in every day life, I’m learning to enjoy my kiddos house/dance preference. Folding laundry is way more fun when I’m shaking my bum to a banging beat.Speaking of songs my kids love that have me dancing: I LOVE the Pharrell song, “Happy”. When I’m in the car with the windows rolled down? It just makes me…happy. As for how we crank the tunes, since all of our music these days is on our phones, I purchased Jesse one of these speakers last year for Christmas. I know there are other bluetooth speakers out there so if the price tag on this one is a little steep for you, you could certainly look around but I REALLY recommend one. It’s used ALL. THE. TIME.Have you heard of pono? I read about it on kickstarter and started batting around the idea of getting one. BUT we aren’t music aficionados and that’s a hefty price tag to start having to collect music in another format all over again. Had I caught it before the Tom Petty collector’s version was sold out, this would be a whole different story…so it’s probably a good thing I didn’t. Have you heard about it? Thoughts? And what are some of the features of your playlist right now? **This post contains affiliate links. • My youngest LOVES "Happy" too, but my husband and I can't STAND it. I don't know why… I really want to love it, but I just can't seem to…

    Right now, I love:
    – Pompeii by Bastille
    – Headlights by Eminem
    – Safe & Sound by Capital Cities (has been my favorite for months!)
    – Burn by Ellie Goulding
