Last week, my sister and I surprised my niece with a trip to NYC for her sixteenth birthday. We walked a lot. We ate A LOT. We became quite good at navigating the subway (for out of towners). We had adventures and made memories. It was a really special trip and I’m so grateful we had the opportunity to go.
Adventures:
Top of the Rock
Grand Central Station
Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
Times Square
New York Public Library
Double decker bus tour (that broke down!! We hopped off while they were calling for a new bus and took the train home. Going over Manhattan Bridge on the outside edge on the top half of an open air double decker tour bus gave me heart palpitations. Having that bus break down a few minutes later was more than I could handle!!)
Soho Window Shopping
The Lion King
Places We Ate:
The Meatball Shop (a big favorite)
S’Mac
Junior’s (another favorite)
Milkbar
Hakkasan
Serendipity (and another favorite)
The Bagel Shop
Shake Shack (and one more)
and Doughnut Plant
And now, it’s back to reality.
It looks and sounds like you had lots of fun in NYC. I especially like your photo of the ice cream with sprinkles, a personal favorite of mine. And a double decker bus in NYC? That idea alone gives me heart palpations.
My niece has a great eye for photography. And it was a really fun trip. I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who thinks a double decker bus in NYC is a scary thing.
Beautiful photos, Kate, and I’m so glad for you that you got to have such a lovely time with your sister and niece. 🙂
Thank you, Marian. I beyond grateful for them and the fun.
