Friday Finds

Source

I love this date. Two of my favorite people in the whole wide world are born on today. I think that means today is good day to have a good day.

  1. I’m making a list of books to read. Inspiration from here, here, and I’m so unabashedly excited for this.
  2. Morning routine hacks for a calmer day. The second one is literally life changing for me and I hate when I get out of the habit.
  3. I’m a builder.
  4. Murder hornets, UFOs, and coronavirus conspiracy theories (the lack of a link is on purpose). 2020 can suck it.
  5. So some random things that make me laugh/smile.
  6. What are you proud of?
  7. 68 pieces of unsolicited advice.
  8. I’ve probably shared this before, but I still like it.
  9. Just wow. You know I love a pretty picture.
  10. This is my new alarm song.
  11. Adele’s weight loss is none of your business.
  12. Ordered this for Violet, but may do it myself.

Happy weekend!!

According to the quiz I am The Warrior. It says I have “a chip on your shoulder the size of Alaska” and an “incessantly competitive nature.” That is so NOT ME it’s comical. I think the quiz is broken.

Loved the pretty pictures, though. But that quiz… ?

I agree!! That doesn’t sound like you!! I suppose it’s too much to hope for a scientific Buzzfeed quiz!!

    YAY FOR FRIDAY THINGS!
So my Spotify app on my tv is on the fritz. I am struggling with this because it is Spotify wafting throughout my home that has saved me the past seven weeks. I knew you could understand, so I am sharing here. SIGH.

I wish I knew how to do cross stitch. I love rainbow anything and almost bought a ridiculously overpriced rainbow during birthday week. I need to make my own rainbow. That should be a life quote.

Ugh!! I’m so sorry to hear about that. I DO understand. This is not a time to be without Spotify!!

Also, you could definitely learn cross stitch. It involves counting and making x’s. It isn’t HARD. It just involves some patience when you first get started!!

Nothing better than Friday Things on a Sunday. 🙂 (Happy Mother’s Day to me–and you!)

I really want to know the other types in the Buzzfeed quiz. I got “Protector,” which has me going, “hmmmm….” I found it interesting how I had such a visceral, negative reaction to some of those photos, and that I had far more negative than positive. Maybe everything looks threatening right now? Gee, wonder why? 🙂

That photo was super-cool. I really liked the article about pride; gives me something to think about. Teaching kids to be proud of their efforts seems like an important part of teaching grit, something more important now than ever. And, while there was lots of great advice on the list of 68, I am most partial to the one about 20-minute naps. I appreciate that I can take them now during the day, when I need to.

Hope you are having a wonderful day with your family.

Happy Mother’s Day, Rita!! I hope you’ve had a wonderful day.

I was surprised at how visceral my reactions were too!! Though I definitely had a few that I LOVED. (I had a few that I hated too!) I always wonder the systems behind Buzzfeed quizzes – maybe even if they aren’t just random.

And I agree with you on the grit and pride. I think I liked it so much because that’s something I’m trying to incorporate more of in my life right now. (I think we all could use some self congratulatory pats on the back.)
